Conference Presentation Experience

Megan's public speaking skills are strong thanks to her theatre background and also her experiences presenting at academic conferences. Presenting at conferences has given Megan experience with the format, and expectations of a conference, especially, of receiving and answering questions about her written work.

In 2018, Megan invited to present a paper at the annual Literature and Culture Conference, hosted by Le Moyne College. Megan's creative paper, "Love in the City of Love" had been written in reflection of American ex-patriot literature in Paris, synthesized with her own experience in Paris. Megan had traveled to Paris with her "Literary Paris" course, having studied literature, art history, French, and more in preparation of this trip. Megan presented in the "Literary Paris" panel.

In 2019, Megan was invited back to Le Moyne College's Literature and Culture Conference. This year, Megan presented her research paper on Shakespeare's Hamlet and Queen Elizabeth I in the "Power Dynamics" Panel. The paper is called "“Fiction, Factual, or Feigned Divine Monarchs: Considering Elizabeth I and Shakespeare’s Fortinbras.”
